National Diploma in Architectural Technology Level 6

Construction Projects require people with a broad range of technical skills.
This is a two year full time programme (part-time programme options also available) consists of the core subjects of the National Diploma in Architectural Technology, Construction Management, and Quantity Surveying.

Program Overview
This programme offers you the opportunity to gain the skills and qualifications necessary to become an Architectural Technician.
The National Diploma in Architectural Technology meets the academic requirements for membership of the New Zealand Institute of Building and an Associate of the Design Association of New Zealand.

Programme Content

  • Establish a design brief for a building project
  • Prepare a preliminary design
  • Prepare a developed building concept
  • Prepare working drawings for residential buildings
  • Prepare working drawings for commercial buildings
  • Prepare working drawings for industrial buildings
  • Evaluate principles of architectural design

These programmes are New Zealand based with teaching materials and assessments provided by the Wellington Institute of Technology. The programmes are both recognised by the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) and TTI's advisory board.  The TTI Advisory board monitors the success of the programme by ensuring that the Institution is well equipped with qualified lecturers, appropriate resources and relevant services.
