Youth Develpment Studies

The TTI & Ola Fou programme aims to empower young Pacific leaders to work for positive change in their communities.

The programme aims to achieve the following outcomes:

Draw vulnerable youth back into the community.

Is already working with young people in a voluntary or paid position.

  • Is able to travel in order to build their knowledge and skills for working with young people.
  • Is recommended and supported by a recognised organisation or church that can provide supervision and approved practical project work during the course.
  • Is over 18.
  • Has basic English language and literacy skills (the course is taught in English).
  • Can supply either a police check or an appropriate character reference from government, village or church officials.

Ola Fou means ‘new life’, it is an educational initiative aimed at supporting Pacific based youth workers to develop their leadership skills and gain a professional qualification around working with young people.

 Ola Fou is part of Praxis -a Network of like-minded educational organisations operating in the Pacific Islands, New Zealand and Australia. We gratefully acknowledge the support of the NZAID programme and other partners for the Ola Fou project.
